Dear Members, Dear Friends,

I hope this message finds you and your families well.

We are facing very difficult times these days and Covid-19 has turned our city hall into a crisis management centre. As the leaders of medium-sized cities, it is our responsibility to manage this crisis in the best interest of our citizens, economies and other associations. Being closer to our citizens than the national or regional governance, we are working on many different initiatives to support the most vulnerable and the people in need.

I would like to send out a message of solidarity to all my colleagues in our member cities and their citizens.

In Sindelfingen, we see so much solidarity, creativity and perseverance among the citizens that I have high hopes we will find a way to overcome this crisis.

In supporting our efforts in protecting our citizens, especially the most vulnerable, in protecting our economies and cultural as well as sports associations, I truly believe that Europe can and must play an essential role. As Eurotowns, we are demanding access to the European Corona-Virus response fund. Europe must act united and in full solidarity with its most affected regions and cities.

Together we will make it through this crisis and I would like to believe that we will get out of it with a stronger European spirit.

Stay healthy, I hope to see you soon.

Best regards
